The History in the Uprising of United Water Works

Before coming together to create Wells Supply Co., the three owners, Paul Canada, Jim Wells, and Chris Blasco, had all worked together at different companies. Jim Wells and Paul Canada had worked together in the mid 60s at a company called Charles A Estey Inc. a water works supply company in Anaheim, California. From the late 60s until the early 80s, Canada, Wells and Blasco all worked together at Marden Susco in Santa Ana, California. By 1983 Jim Wells had left Marden Susco and started “Wells Supply Co.” as a sole proprietor working out of his garage while Paul Canada and Chris Blasco were both working for the Parkson Co.

By 1985 Chris Blasco left the Parkson Co. and joined Wells Supply where he and Wells worked out of a 1600 square foot warehouse in Santa Ana. In 1986 Paul Canada left the Parkson Co. and joined the Wells Supply team. The three were a good fit, and Wells Supply prospered. A year later, the threesome moved into a 10,000 square foot warehouse just down the street. In 1988 Wells Supply Co. opened its second branch in Riverside, California. Business was good until the recession of 1990-1995. In August of 1990, Jim Wells retired and left the company.

Wells Supply was forced to close our Riverside branch during the recession and consolidate in Santa Ana. By mid 1995, the recession was over and the company’s sales increased year-over-year for thirteen straight years before the most recent recession of 2009-2012. But the company remained focused and committed to its customers and the future looks bright.

Wells Supply Co. now has three branches serving Southern California. Santa Ana serves as the company’s headquarters located at 1313 E Hunter Ave. The Coachella branch opened in 2005, followed by the Perris, California branch in 2011.

The company’s staff consists of 30 of the best trained, most experienced professionals in the industry. Wells Supply represents every major water works manufacturer in the industry. We value our relationship with our manufacturers as they provide the high-quality products we need to serve our customers’ needs.

On July 1, 2013 Paul Canada retired after 50 years in the industry, leaving Wells Supply in the very capable hands of his son Jerry Canada and his partner since 1986, Chris Blasco.

In 2014 Wells Supply Co. changed its name to “United Water Works, Inc.” This name change gives the company the flexibility to move forward and expand business interests in other areas.
